LOST CREEK -- After Wednesday's match against South Harrison was called due to lightning just 1:30 into the match, Elkins made the trek back to Lost Creek on Thursday to pick up a 9-1 victory.
The contest was tied at 1-1 before the Tigers tallied eight straight goals, including five after intermission, to notch a win over a sectional foe.
"It was a good result for us tonight," EHS coach Scott Cutright said. "We found a variety of ways to score and hopefully this is a good jump into the weekend game against Hampshire."
Tristan Whited, Andrew Tesar and Hayden Ferguson each found the back of net twice to pace the Tigers.
Tucker Cutright, Chiron Wing and Lucas D'Angelo also netted scores.
Elkins (2-0-0) hosts Hampshure at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Elkins High girls are also 2-0-0 on the young campaign after defeating Hampshire, 3-1, last Saturday at home.
Addy Cogar had two first-half goals and Ziah George added another one as the Lady Tigers led 3-0 at halftime.
The EHS girls begin Big 10 Conference play at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Fairmont Senior.
