UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The West Virginia University women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 contest at No. 12 Penn State on Thursday night.
Despite a few promising looks for the Mountaineers (2-2) early on, the Nittany Lions found the back of the net in the 15th minute to take the lead and never gave it up. PSU added a second score in the 23rd minute to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.
West Virginia outshot Penn State in the opening minutes of the second half, but PSU's Kaitlyn MacBean was able to complete her hat trick in the 55th minute.
Ajanae Respass had WVU's goal in the 90th minute.
