ELKVIEW --Blake Fisher had four rushing scores as fourth-seed Herbert Hoover eliminated No. 13 Elkins, 49-7, Saturday in a Class AAA first-round matchup.
The Tigers finished with a 5-6 record under first-year coach Chad Ware, advancing to the postseason for the first time since 2020.
It was Elkins' second loss of the season to the Huskies, who claimed a 56-7 home win back on Oct. 25.
Herbert Hoover led 28-0 at halftime as Fisher found the end zone twice and Dane Hatfield threw for a score and ran for another.
Fisher added a pair of scoring runs in the second half, while Devin Silvas also found the end zone on a rushing score.
The Tigers got on the board on a 35-yard score by Dylan Fortney with 6 minutes left to play.
Senior Lucas D'Angelo added the conversion kick.
Nick Bowers concluded his standout career in the orange & black with 80 yards rushing.
Bowers departs as the school's all-time leading rusher among his many other accolades. He scored 29 touchdowns this season as well.
Fortney added 41 yards on nine attempts.
Hatfield threw for 342 yards on the night, with Fisher hauling in nine receptions for 193 yards and Lincoln McConiday collecting a TD receptions.
Hoover (11-0) will entertain No. 5 Oak Hill at 7 p.m. Friday in quarterfinal action.
