Defense carries Bulldogs past Trinity
SUMMERSVILLE — Tygarts Valley limited Trinity to just 11 field goals in posting a 63-32 victory in the Winter Classic on Monday afternoon.
The Bulldogs led 15-11 after one quarter and constructed a 37-18 advantage at the intermission break.
“Our defense turned the game around in the second quarter as we were struggling with our shooting,” TV coach Tom Wamsley said. “We missed a lot of easy shots early.”
Jacob Wamsley tossed in 19 points, Kaden Moore 15 and Parker Bell 10 to lead the Bulldogs.
Wamsley was named the Player of the Game, while Moore also received special recognition.
Austin Porta led the Warriors with 19 points.
Tygarts Valley (4-1) visits Clay-Battelle on Friday.
