Bonner nets 28 points as top-ranked Tucker cruises past Pendleton

HAMBLETON -- Class A, top-ranked Tucker County moved to 10-0 with a 73-40 win over regional foe Pendleton County Wednesday evening in Potomac Valley Conference play.

Trevan Bonner fired in 28 points to pace the Mountain Lions, who rushed out to a 22-6 lead after one quarter and carried a 41-21 cushion into intermission.

Garrett Wilfong added 11 and Mikey Mitchell 10.

Chase Owens was the lone player in double figures for the Wildcats (4-6) with 10.

In the junior varsity game, Tucker County picked up a 50-37 win as Ethan Cummings scored 14, Ty Ricottilli 11 and Nate Davis 10.

Colton Roberson fired in 21 for Pendleton County.

The Mountain Lions are scheduled to visit Elkins at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Wildcats visit East Hardy on Friday.
