ELKINS — Isaac Anger’s final home meet in his Elkins High School career ended up with more school records on Wednesday night
Anger and Andres Masten were honored on senior night in a matchup against Buckhannon-Upshur at Davis & Elkins College’s George A. Myles Pool.
Anger broke his own school marks in both the 100-yard butterfly (52.92) and 100 backstroke (55.44) as the Tigers cruised to an 89-16 win over the Bucs.
He now owns all the school’s individual school records in the pool.
Masten, meanwhile, swam to first in the 50 freestyle (24.25) and 200 freestyle (1:59.24), while teaming with Anger, Jackson Shepherd and Joel Casto in taking the 200 medley (1:53.81) and 200 freestyle (1:48.20) relays.
Casto was also first in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.80) and Zenna Jones took the 500 freestyle in 7:13.32.
Jones, Shepherd, Kyle Warner and Briar Higgins claimed the 400 freestyle relay with an effort of 4:39.07.
B-U’s Aidan Squires was first in the 100 freestyle in a time of 1:03.25.
The defending state champion Lady Tigers picked up a 107-40 win over the Lady Bucs.
Elkins’ Lilly Irons claimed the 200 freestyle (2:06.51) and 100 backstroke (1:08.28), Aleah Irons the 100 butterfly (1:07.67) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.31), Emma Ujvagi the 200 IM (2:29.51) and Lilly Anger the 50 freestyle (25.89).
Lilly Irons, Ujvagi, Aleah Irons and Anger placed first in the 200 medley relay (2:02.47), Ujvagi, Aleah Irons, Anger and Leah Ours claimed the 200 freestyle relay (1:48.87) and Lilly Irons, Ours, Sophia Rhodes and Lilly Anger the 400 freestyle relay (3:59.85).
For B-U, Mallory Hughes was first in the 100 freestyle (1:01.13) and Aubry Shay took the 500 freestyle in a time of 6:24.24.
Elkins and B-U will now begin postseason action, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Big 10 Conference Championships being held at The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport.
The Region III meet will be held at the same facility on Feb. 8.
The state meet is set for Feb. 20-21 at the Mylan Park Aquatic Center in Morgantown.
