UPPER GLADE -- Parker Bell hit a pair of free throws with just three seconds left in regulation to lift Class A, No. 7 Tygarts Valley to a 52-50 win over Webster County on Monday night.
The Bulldogs trailed 29-23 at halftime, then outscored the Highlanders, 16-9, in the third quarter to carry a 39-38 cushion in the final frame.
Kaden Moore tossed in 20 points and grabbed five rebounds for Tygarts Valley, while Jacob Wamsley netted 13 points, blocked two shots and collected a pair of steals and Bell finished with 11 points and three assists.
Ian Harris tallied a team-high four assists, Alex Scott had three helpers and two steals and Adam Woods two assists.
Ryder Wright had 15 points and Madix Cutlip 12 for Webster County, which fell to 5-11 on the season.
"We were a step slow on defense the entire first half, and Webster County ran some great offensive sets and seemed to make every shot," Bulldogs coach Tom Wamsley said. "We got a better defensive flow the second half and made key shots in the final minutes."
Tygarts Valley shot 40.9% percent from the floor and held a 31-27 rebounding advantage.
The Bulldogs (11-4) return to action Friday at home against Notre Dame.
