ELKINS — A 3-point scoring barrage propelled Elkins to a 76-56 win over Big 10 Conference foe Lewis County Monday night in makeup contest at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

The Tigers hit 10 shots from beyond the arc, with five different players drilling treys.

Dylan Hinzman hit four 3-pointers and netted 19 points for Elkins, which bolted out to a 24-11 lead after the first quarter — fittingly building the 13-point cushion on Lucas D’Angelo’s trey right before the horn.

The lead swelled to 43-23 at halftime, before the Minutemen cut the deficit to 56-40 after three quarters.

The Tigers held a 20-16 scoring edge in the final canto.

Landon Shreve added 16 points, Levi Wanless 14 and D’Angelo 12 for Elkins, which improved to 6-8 and remains home Thursday to face regional foe Grafton.

Ben Putnam tossed in 29 points for Lewis County.
