HAMBLETON -- Class A, No. 3 Tucker County used a strong third quarter to pull away from No. 6 Tygarts Valley Thursday evening in a matchup of regional opponents on senior night.
The Lady Bulldogs led 8-7 after first quarters but the Lady Mountain Lions held a 17-12 scoring edge in the second to take a 24-20 advantage at halftime.
MaKenna Evans bucketed eight of her 18 points in the third frame as Tucker County built a 40-26 lead entering the final quarter.
Sarah Defibaugh led Tygarts Valley with 18 points, followed by Summer Lewis-Smith with 12.
Raven Matthews also finished with 18 points for the Lady Mountain Lions, who are now 12-5 and visit Petersburg this evening.
The Lady Bulldogs fell to 10-8 and travel to Harman on Monday.
