Strong fourth quarter fuels Irish past TV

By Joey Kittle 2 min read

MILL CREEK -- Notre Dame used a strong fourth quarter to knock off Class A, No. 7 Tygarts Valley, 54-52, Friday night in Mason Dixon Conference action at Weber-Wamsley Court.

The Bulldogs led 24-18 at halftime and 42-36 after three quarters.

But the Irish held an 18-10 scoring edge in the final canto.

"This was the second time this year we allowed the game to get away from us in the fourth quarter," TV coach Tom Wamsley said. "Defensively, we missed too many assignments, and offensively we did not treasure the ball nor make good decisions."

Jovanni Minnocci and Dominico Minnocci each had 14 points for Notre Dame.

Brayden Helmick also reached double figures with 11.

Jacob Wamsley had a game-high 22 points and Parker Bell chipped in 12 for the Bulldogs, who are now 11-5 and visit Harman on Monday in a battle of Randolph County regional foes.

The Irish improved to 9-8.
