Third-quarter scoring drought plagues TV girls in loss

UPPER GLADE -- A third-quarter scoring drought plagued Class A, No. 5 Tygarts Valley in a 41-37 setback to Webster County on Monday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-7) led 13-8 after one canto and 24-22 at halftime.

But they managed just two points in the third period as the Lady Highlanders took a 31-26 lead into the final quarter.

Sarah Defibaugh hit four treys and finished with 14 points for Tygarts Valley. Summer Lewis-Smith chipped in with 11.

Brenna McCormick and Beth Case hit for 11 apiece for Webster County, which is now 11-8.

The Lady Bulldogs are slated to visit Harman at 6 p.m. today.
