Elkins’ Wanless, B-U’s Westfall and PB’s Poling named to first team

ELKINS — Elkins High School senior Levi Wanless has been selected to the all-Big 10 Conference first team.

Buckhannon-Upshur’s Jerin Westfall and Philip Barbour’s Malachi Poling join Wanless on the first unit, along with Phoenix Sickles and Landon Sanders from Class AAA state champion Bridgeport, Robert C. Byrd’s Camryn Newsaun and Logan Boyce, Lewis County’s Ben Putnam, Preston’s Easton Hayes, North Marion’s Conner Balwanz, Lincoln’s Aidan Rice and Liberty’s Baustin Bowers.

Members of the second team include B-U’s Brady McDaniels, Fairmont Senior’s Darrell Claybrook and Julz Butler, Bridgeport’s Carter Zuliani, Anderson McDougal and Jack Spatafore, East Fairmont’s River McClain, North Marion’s Quinten Harbert, Lewis County’s Manny Robinson and Maddox Gillespie, Preston’s Aiden Schmidl and Grafton’s Dillan America.

Fairmont Senior’s Trea Cumberledge was the league’s Player of the Year and Bridgeport’s Dave Marshall the Coach of the Year.

The Big 10 had four teams play in the state tourney.

Joining Bridgeport were Elkins, RCB and Fairmont Senior.
