Tucker and PB cruise in regional play
HAMBLETON — Eleven different players reached the scoring column as top-seed Tucker County defeated No. 8 Harman, 76-8, Friday evening in Class A, Region II action.
The Lady Mountain Lions (15-6) will now host East Hardy Wednesday one of the regional finals.
The Lady Cougars got past Tygarts Valley, 42-32, in Friday’s other semifinal.
Tucker County is seeking its 21st appearance in the state tournament.
Raven Matthews and MaKenna Evans led the Lady Mountain Lions with 11 points each. Addi Moats chipped in 10.
Kala Mullenex had six points for the Lady Panthers.

PHILIPPI — Top-seed Philip Barbour placed four players in double figures to cruise past No. 8 Liberty, 83-30, Friday night in Class AA, Region II action.
The Lady Colts (13-8) will now host Petersburg at 7 p.m. Wednesday in search of their fourth straight state tourney appearance.
Izzy Knotts led Philip Barbour with 19 points, followed by Olivia Wilmoth with 12 and Finley Carpenter and Reagan Wright with 11 apiece.
Briar Travelstead led the Lady Mountaineers with nine. Makayla Thompson chipped in with eight and Gabby Forman seven.
