Bulldogs drop verdict to Lincoln; Pendleton wins
MILL CREEK — Tygarts Valley dropped a 9-2 verdict to Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.
Kaden Moore and Jaxon Drennen each had two hits for the Bulldogs in the loss.
Moore and Gear had RBIs.
Alex Greene scattered one run on six hits over 4 2/3 innings to earn the win. He fanned four.
Greene also went 3 for 3 at the plate, driving in two runs. Preston Ellis added two RBIs.
Adam Woods was tagged with the loss in two innings of work, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out two.
Moore worked three scoreless frames of relief, giving up two hits and striking out three.
Jacob Wamsley went two innings, giving up three runs on two hits.
Tygarts Valley is slated to host East Hardy at 6 p.m. today.
Pendleton 9, Pocahontas 1
FRANKLIN — Chase Owens and Barrett Cook each had two RBIs to lift Pendleton County to a 9-1 win over Pocahontas County on Saturday.
Caleb Armentrout had three hits for the Wildcats, who erupted for six runs in the second inning to build a 7-1 lead.
Owens’ two-run triple highlighted the second-inning surge.
Travis Owens earned the win, going the first two innings, allowing one run on two hits and fanning four.
Caydan Boone, Will Smith and Cooper Smith also saw time on the hill for Pendleton County.
Warren Burns was tagged with the loss for the Warriors. He went the first two frames, giving up seven runs on seven hits and striking out a pair.
R.T. Hill had the RBI for the Warriors.
The Wildcats (5-4) visit Hampshire this evening.
