CLARKSBURG -- Philip Barbour picked up a pair of wins in the McDonald's Classic on Saturday.
The Colts erupted for 14 runs in the sixth inning in handing Williamstown an 18-4 setback in Saturday's late game.
Nick Gonzales had a two-run single, Landyn Carpenter a run-producing single and Kale Wolfe a two-run double during the outburst, while eight runs crossed via walks or hit-batsmen.
Gonzales, Carpenter and Wolfe had three hits each in the victory.
Carpenter earned the win, allowing four runs on four hits in going all six innings. He fanned seven and walked five.
In the win over Pendleton County earlier in the day, the Colts plated five runs in the first inning en route to a 10-4 win.
Slaton Harris had a two-run single, Kale Wolfe a run-producing single, Landyn Carpenter an RBI double and Anthony Mosesso drew a bases-loaded walk in the first-inning surge.
Jack Wilson added two RBIs in the win.
James Vincell had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Wildcats.
Kent Rowan went 3 1/3 innings to earn the win, scattering two runs on two hits, fanning six and walking three.
Cooper Smith took the loss in one inning of work. He gave up seven runs on five hits, striking out one and walking four.
The Wildcats (6-6) host Point Pleasant today, while Philip Barbour (10-2) visits North Marion for Big 10 Conference matchup at 5 p.m.
