Inaugural Snowshoe Foundation Invitational held at EHS

ELKINS -- The Snowshoe Foundation is proud to announce it held the first-ever Snowshoe Foundation Invitational Track Meet on Friday, April 11, at Elkins High School.
This action-packed track and field meet brought together talented student athletes and community members from across the region for an exciting evening competition.
The Snowshoe Foundation Invitational Track Meet featured over a dozen teams, including 5 schools rooted in the Snowshoe Foundation's tri-county service area. Elkins High School, Harman High School, Tygarts Valley High School, Pocahontas County High School and Webster County High school battled for top prize. Despite weather conditions that were less than ideal, the student athletes tuned in some impressive performances, with Elkins High eventually taking top honors for both the boys and girls teams.
In addition to the competition on the track, local schools had the opportunity to fundraise during the event by selling food and T-shirts with all proceeds going to further their athletic programs and scholastic initiatives.
"Our mission is to support our local communities," said Dave Black, Executive Director of the Snowshoe Foundation. "This invitational not only showcased the incredible talent of our local student-athletes but also provided them with a platform to fundraise for their programs and future opportunities."
The Snowshoe Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Pocahontas, Randolph, and Webster counties, is committed to investing in community initiatives, including youth and educational programs. The Snowshoe Foundation Invitational Track Meet is yet another unique effort by the Snowshoe Foundation to foster engagement, teamwork, and opportunity in local communities.
"Collaborating with the Snowshoe Foundation to host this event at Elkins High School was an amazing opportunity for our students," said Ross Ware, Athletic Director of Elkins High School. "We appreciate the Foundation's commitment to strengthening our local schools and sports programs, supporting each of these communities."
