Wildcats claim victory over Moorefield
FRANKLIN — An eight-run third inning lifted Pendleton County to a 14-2 win over Moorefield Wednesday night in Potomac Valley Conference play.
Cole Harper had a two-run single to highlight the outburst, while James Vincell and Travis Owens had RBI singles and Chase Owens, Spencer Hartman, Noah Lockard and Caleb Armentrout all drew bases-loaded walks.
Harper earned the victory on the mound, giving up two runs on no hits, striking out two and walking three in going the first 4 1/3 innings.
Travis Owens finished in relief as the game ended after the top of the fifth due to the 10-run mercy rule.
Travis Owens, Vincell and Cashton Kisamore each collected two hits for the Wildcats, who improved to 6-4.
Trevor Baldwin and Kali Greenwalt had RBIs for the Yellow Jackets.
