The Inter-Mountain photo by Joey Kittle Elkins will visit Grafton Tuesday in Class AAA, Region I, Section 2 action. The Lady Tigers are the fourth-seed in the tournament.

ELKINS — High school softball postseason action gets underway next week.

Fourth-seed Elkins begins Class AAA, Region I, Section 2 Tuesday at top-seed Grafton. No. 3 East Fairmont visits No. 2 Fairmont Senior in the other sectional matchup.

Buckhannon-Upshur is the second seed in the Class AAAA, Region I, Section 2 tourney and entertains No. 3 Preston on Monday.

University is the top seed and will host the B-U-Preston victor on Tuesday in the double-elimination tourney.

Philip Barbour will compete against Petersburg, Moorefield and Liberty in the Class AA, Region II, Section 1 tournament.

The pairings in this section have yet to be finalized.

Tucker County is the top-seed in the Class A, Region II, Section 1 tourney and hosts No. 2 East Hardy on Tuesday in the start of a best-of-three series.

In Class A, Region II, Section 2 play, Tygarts Valley is the second seed and entertains No. 3 Pocahontas County on Wednesday, with the victor visiting top-seed Pendleton County on Thursday.

The winners of each section advance to best-of-three regional action set to begin on Monday, May 19.
