PHILIPPI -- Landyn Carpenter cracked two doubles and drove in three runs as Philip Barbour won its eighth straight game with an 8-6 win over Braxton County on Wednesday night.
Kent Rowan and Tyler Sisson also doubled for the Colts, who trailed 2-1 after the first inning but plated two runs in each of the second and third frames.
Sisson and Carpenter had RBI doubles during a three-run fourth inning after Braxton County had cut the deficit to 5-4 in the top of the inning.
Landon Mays had a two-run single in the first for the Eagles.
Grant Harris went the first four innings to earn the win, allowing six runs on nine hits and fanning eight.
Mattox Satterfield and Robbie Jones held Braxton County scoreless in relief. Satterfield went two frames, striking out three and giving up just one hit, while Jones retired the side in order in the seventh.
Philip Barbour (16-2) is scheduled to visit Tucker County at 5:30 p.m. today.

Petersburg 9, PB 0
PETERSBURG -- Kinsley Crites and Olivia Kimble combined for a five-inning shutout as Petersburg claimed a 9-0 win over Philip Barbour on Wednesday evening.
Crites went the first two innings, allowing two hits and fanning one and Kimble gave up three hits and struck out five.
Avery McDaniel had a pair of doubles to lead the Lady Colts. Olivia Wilmoth also doubled.
McDaniel was tagged with the loss.
Addison Kitzmiller went 2 for 2 with two RBIs for the Lady Vikings.
Philip Barbour, which defeated Lincoln, 13-12, in eight innings behind McDaniel's four RBIs, is now 8-11-1 and will close out the regular season at 5:30 p.m. Friday at home against Liberty.
