PARSONS -- Peyton Hicks cracked a walk-off triple in the seventh inning as top-seed Tucker County defeated No. 2 East Hardy, 2-1, in Class A, Region II, Section 1 best-of-three series action on Wednesday night.
In a pitchers' duel between Hicks and East Hardy's Ginger Combs, the Lady Mountain Lions' MaKenna Evans drew a one-out walk in the seventh before Hicks tripled to center to plate her with the winning run.
Tucker County took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when Rylee White's grounder was misplayed, allowing Bella Loucks to score.
The Lady Cougars drew even in the third on Gracie Heishman's inside-the-park homer.
Hicks gave up four hits, struck out seven and walked just one.
Combs scattered four hits, fanning one and walking six in going the distance.
