Elkins High’s Riffle earns Big 10 honors

ELKINS -- Elkins High School's Hailey Riffle has been selected to the all-Big 10 Conference softball first-team.

Riffle, a junior, was tabbed as an infielder.

Buckhannon-Upshur and Philip Barbour placed two players each on the first unit.

Representing the Lady Bucs are sophomore Kynnedy Marple, who was selected as one of the utility players, and freshman outfielder Madi Knabenshue, while senior pitcher Avery McDaniel and catcher Katelyn Cooper were selected for the Lady Colts.

The remainder of the first-team infield includes Bridgeport's Kyleigh Anderson, Lincoln's Riley Pearlman and Preston County's Myla Wotring.

Lewis County's Adaleigh Curry and Fairmont Senior's Talia Olivito round out the first-team outfield.

Lincoln's Aspen Dyer, North Marion's Bella Talkington and East Fairmont's Reese Van Zant are the other utility players on the first unit.

B-U's Alyssa Abel (catcher), Avery Hamer (infield) and Krstine Frye (outfield), along with Philip Barbour's Olivia Wilmoth (utility) were named second team.

The remainder of the second unit includes Lewis County's Ashley Crook (pitcher), Lincoln's Adriana Elder (infield) and Kennedy Linville (utility), North Marion's Regan Ash (infield), Fairmont Senior's Michaela Egidi (infield), Robert C. Byrd's Khloe McAvoy (outfield) and Lexi Hardy (utility), Preston's Camdyn Metheny (outfield) and East Fairmont's Gracie Snyder (utility).
