MORGANTOWN — Fourth-seed Buckhannon Post 7 dropped a 5-2 decision to top-seed Morgantown Post 2 Tuesday night in American Legion Area 2 tourney action at Dale Miller Field at Mylan Park.

Buckhannon (2-18) will now face Clarksburg Post 13 at 4 p.m. today in an elimination game.

Bridgeport Post 68, which defeated Clarksburg, 5-2, in Tuesday’s first game, face Morgantown at 7 p.m. in a winner’s bracket matchup.

Post 7 took a 2-1 lead against Post 2 in the third inning on run-producing singles by Nick Gonzales and Izaac Crislip.

Nate Wolfe’s sacrifice fly in the home-half of the frame drew Morgantown even at 2-2.

Post 2 tacked on two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to set the final score.

Mason Chaney an RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth and another run crossed on an error for Morgantown.

James Bryner earned the win, going 4 1/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits. He fanned seven and walked two.

Jerin Westfall was tagged with the loss, working 3 2/3 frames, giving up four runs on six hits, striking out two and walking two.

Dawson Tenney and Joel Good had two hits each for Buckhannon.

The title game is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday.

A second championship contest will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, if necessary.
