Collier leads EHS golfers to victory
ELKINS — The Elkins High School golfers picked up a win over Lewis County on Monday.
The Tigers finished with a 177, while the Minutemen carded a 200.
Luca Collier fired a 39 to earn low-medalist honors for Elkins, followed by Kendrick Smith (43), Dreyton Boggs (45) and Lincoln Fletcher (50).
Joseph Davisson led Lewis County with a 42.
“Today was a good team win, and I’m Proud of them for focusing — even when they aren’t playing their best,” Tigers coach Dave Baird said. “Some mistakes were made out there and we need to find a way to eliminate them as postseason is just around the corner.
“Luca is playing well right now and hopefully his good play continues. Some of the team will be taking a break until Sept. 3. We need some time on the range.”
