Lady Tigers go 2-1 at Herbert Hoover

ELKVIEW — The Elkins High School volleyball team picked up a pair of wins in quad-match action Tuesday night at Herbert Hoover.
The Lady Tigers, coming off their first-ever state tournament appearance in 2024, defeated Sissonville, 2-0 (25-19, 25-17) and got pat Buffalo in three sets (25-23, 18-25, 15-12).
Elkins lost a 2-0 (25-18, 25-9) verdict to Herbert Hoover.
Buffalo advanced to the Class AA state semifinals last season, while Hoover was the state runner-ups in Class AAA.
The Lady Tigers were slated to host Gilmer County on Wednesday evening and visit South Harrison at 5:30 p.m. today.
Elkins returns a strong group from last year’s historic team.
Seniors on the roster include Hannah Currence, Maddi Zirkle, Jasmine Workman, Lily Anderson, Maura O’Neil and Jayla Reams.
