MORGANTOWN –The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the nonconference schedule for the 2025-26 women’s basketball season.

This year’s nonconference slate features seven home contests, one road game, and three neutral site contests, the first in a standalone game at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs and two at the Baha Mar Championship in Nassau, Bahamas.

“This season we have a non-conference schedule designed to challenge us and prepare us for the intensity of playing our Big 12 schedule,” Hayhurst Family Head Coach Mark Kellogg said. “We have some talented teams coming into Morgantown this season and we need our passionate fans to continue to make the Coliseum a tough place to play. We also have challenging neutral site and true road games that will help us build our resume. Every game on this schedule is an opportunity for us to get better, and we are excited for the opportunities ahead.”

The Mountaineers officially open the regular season on Monday, Nov. 3, welcoming Purdue Fort Wayne to Morgantown. The Mastodons, who are coming off the best season in program history with a 27-9 campaign and an appearance in the Great 8 of the WNIT in 2024-25, will help tip off West Virginia’s third season under Kellogg.

On Friday, Nov. 7, the Mountaineers play host to Kent State. The matchup will be the 11th all-time meeting between the pair and the first since 1989.

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the Mountaineers take on Temple for the second straight year. Last season, West Virginia rolled to a 68-46 road win over the Owls. WVU leads the all-time series 26-6 and has won four straight meetings.

The Mountaineers leave Morgantown for the first time in a neutral-site matchup against Duke. The contest is set for Friday, Nov. 14 and will take place at the Greenbrier Resort. West Virginia then plays host to Appalachian State on Thursday, Nov. 20. The contest will tip off at 10:30 a.m. ET as part of the Mountaineers’ annual Education Day game.
