First WVSSAC playoff ratings released
Tigers, Bucs, Colts, Bulldogs and Tucker all among top 16

PARKERSBURG — The first WVSSAC playoff ratings of the season were released on Tuesday afternoon.
The top 16 schools in each class qualify for the playoffs.
Elkins, Philip Barbour and Tucker County — all playoffs teams from last season– currently set in the top 10 in their respective classes.
The Tigers (3-0) are seventh in Class AAA, the Colts (2-1) fourth in Class AA and the Mountain Lions (3-0) seventh in Class A.
Tucker County travels to Class AA, No. 1 and defending state champion Frankfort (3-0) on Friday evening.
Buckhannon-Upshur (0-3) and Tygarts Valley (1-2) are also among the top 16 in the first release of the ratings.
The Bucs, who visit Elkins on Friday night, are 15th in Class AAAA and the Bulldogs, who entertain Bath County (Va.) Friday evening for homecoming at Bulldog Field, check in at 16th in single-A.
Also in Class A, Pendleton County (2-1) is fourth.
Petersburg (3-0), meanwhile, is sixth in double-A.
The Big 10 Conference has four teams among the top 10 in Class AA, as Bridgeport (3-0) is first, Fairmont Senior (3-0) second and North Marion (3-0) fourth.
Bridgeport hosts Philip Barbour on Friday night.
Morgantown (3-0) and University (3-0) are tied for first in Class AAAA and defending state champion Wahama (3-0) sets atop the initial Class A ratings.
