Marks accounts for 5 scores to lift Tucker past EH
BAKER — Sam Marks threw for 296 yards and four scores as Tucker County overcame an early deficit to post a 38-27 win over East Hardy Saturday night in PVC action.
The Mountain Lions (3-0) trailed 13-0 in the first quarter before Marks hit Lucas Barb for a 15-yard score early into the second quarter to make it 13-6.
Barb hauled in five receptions for 151 yards in the contest,
The Cougars responded with Levi Price’s 10-yard reception to extend the lead to 19-6 with 7:57 left in the opening half.
Barb then hit Keelyn Eichelberger, Reid Kisamore and Barb with TD passes as Tucker County took a 30-19 lead into halftime.
Marks added a scoring run in the third quarter to make it 38-19.
Price had four touchdown receptions from Trevor Roof for the Cougars on the night.
Marks was 15 of 22 through the air with no interceptions.
He also ran for 65 yards, while Cade Rapp added 43.
Kisamore followed Barb with three catches for 62 yards and Eichelberger four for 49.
The Mountain Lions visit defending Class AA state champion Frankfort on Friday.
East Hardy (0-3) returns to action Sept. 29 at home against Southern (Md.)
