Steelers sign Peppers to bolster secondary after Elliott’s injury

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran safety Jabrill Peppers as DeShon Elliott recovers from a knee injury.

Coach Mike Tomlin announced the move on Tuesday.

Peppers, recently cut by New England, brings versatility and special teams skills.

The Steelers, who beat the New York Jets in their opener, host Seattle on Sunday.

Tomlin hasn’t ruled out Peppers playing soon.

Elliott’s absence leaves a gap in communication for the revamped secondary.

Starting at $3.92/week.
