ROMNEY -- Elkins and Class AAA, Region II foe Hampshire played to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon.
"I felt the boys defended well today, unfortunately we didn't have enough urgency on the attacking end and we just couldn't get anything going," Tigers coach Scott Cutright said.
Elkins is now 11-2-4 on the season. The Tigers have a 2-0-2 record against regional foes and will visit another -- Bridgeport -- at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the regular-season finale.
The Class AAA, Region II tournament gets underway Oct. 21.
Other teams in the region include Robert C. Byrd, Lewis County and Keyser.
In the preliminary girls match, the Lady Tigers (5-6-4) collected a 1-0 victory on a second-half goal.
They will also visit Bridgeport at 6 p.m. Tuesday to conclude the regular season.
