Area players garner all-Big 10 volleyball honors

ELKINS — Elkins High School’s Maura O’Neill earned a spot on the all-Big 10 Conference volleyball first team recently announced, while Philip Barbour’s Izzy Knotts was tabbed the league’s Player of the Year.

O’Neill, a senior, helped lead the Lady Tigers to their first-ever state tournament berth last season.

She recorded 227 kills, 296 digs and 417 serve receives this fall.

For her career, she had 710 kills, 921 digs, 187 aces and 956 serve receives.

Knotts, meanwhile, helped direct the Lady Colts to the Class AA title game, garnering her 1,000th career dig during the process.

During the 2025 campaign, Knotts tallied 492 digs and 644 kills.

The junior was joined on the first unit by classmate Finley Carpenter, who had 432 digs, 299 kills and 750 assists this season.

Buckhannon-Upshur senior Reagan Mason also earned a first-team nod.

The remainder of the first unit consisted of Bridgeport’s Addison Veigel and Taylor Randolph, East Fairmont’s Annie Musgrove, Grafton’s Kenna Keener, Lewis County’s Eliza Bush and Lila Fealy, Preston’s Layla Knight and Robert C. Byrd’s Maddie McGill.

Philip Barbour’s Kayla Baker and Gracie Wolfe and B-U’s Alivia Cogar and Avery Hamer are joined on the second team by Fairmont Senior’s Madilynn Kyle, Grafton’s Liya Clemm, Lincoln’s Aundrea Rockwell and Sadie Adams, Bridgeport’s Salam Rajjoub and Kennedy Wolfe, North Marion’s Kinlee Hess and RCB’s Julia Harrold.

Grafton’s Nat Clemm was named the conference’s Coach of the Year.
