Bulldogs drop tilt to No. 4 Rebels in home debut
MILL CREEK — Isaac Hodges and Seth Cronin combined for 47 points to lead Class A, No. 4 Ritchie County to a 57-37 win over Tygarts Valley Tuesday evening in the home opener at Weber-Wamsley Court.
The 6-foot-7 Hodges tossed in 26 on the night, with Cronin hitting for 21 for the Rebels, who improved to 4-0 on the young season.
Jacob Wamsley bucketed 18 points to lead the Bulldogs, who trailed 17-9 after one quarter and 29-20 at halftime.
“We keep searching for a scorer,” TV coach Tom Wamsley said. “We played well enough and kept the game in reach but we were waiting for someone to get hot (on offense).”
The Bulldogs (1-3) return to action Dec. 31 against Trinity in the Winter Classic at the Summersville Arena & Conference Center.
