DUNMORE -- No. 7 Pocahontas County pulled away from No. 9 Tygarts Valley, 63-53, in a battle of Class A ranked teams and regional foes Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs, who saw their six-game win streak end, trailed 51-42 after three quarters but cut the deficit to 55-53 on a basket by Nevaeh Cooper with just over 2 minutes remaining in regulation.
The Lady Warriors, however, closed the game on an 8-0 run.
Sarah Defibaugh had 16 points for Tygarts Valley in the setaback.
Allyson Taylor tossed in 17 points, followed by Calli Propst with 15, Shayla Bennett's 11 and Alexis Arbogast with 10 to lead Pocahontas County, which is slated to visit Tucker County next Friday.
The Lady Warriors were slated to host Sherman today but that game was postponed.
The Lady Bulldogs (8-3) are scheduled to visit Union on Tuesday.
