Lady Colts, Lady Vikings to meet in co-regional final

PHILIPPI -- Second-seed Philip Barbour and No. 3 Petersburg advanced in the Class AA, Region II tourney with wins on Friday night.
The Lady Colts will now host the Lady Vikings at 7 p.m. on Thursday with the victor advancing to the state tournament.
Philip Barbour's Izzy Knotts scored her 1,000th career point in a 73-27 win over No, 7 Berkeley Springs.
Knotts, a junior, finished with 18 points on the night, followed by Tatem Jeffries with 11 and Olivia Wilmoth with 10.
Knotts also reached 1,000th career points in volleyball during the fall season.
Petersburg (15-6) moved on with a 62-32 victory over sixth-seed and visiting Braxton County.
Miley Tingler tossed in 19 points and Ayden Mayfield had 15 for the Lady Vikings.
Jade Chapman and Bailey Pritt had nine apiece for the Lady Eagles, who finished the season with a 9-14 mark.
Philip Barbour defeated host Petersburg, 51-47, in the lone regular- season meeting.
In the other regional matchup on Friday, fourth-seed Moorefield defeated Frankfort, 53-29, and top-seed Lincoln claimed a 69-22 win over South Harrison.
Lincoln will host Moorefield in Thursday's other co-regional.
