No. 6 Lady Mountain Lions pull away from No. 10 TV

MILL CREEK — In a battle of Class A, top 10 teams, No. 6 Tucker County pulled away in the third quarter to hand No. 10 Tygarts Valley a 68-53 setback Tuesday night at Weber-Wamsley Court.

The Lady Mountain Lions led 30-25 at halftime, before outscoring the Lady Bulldogs, 21-11, in the third to open up a 51-36 advantage.

Mayah Gross had 19 points, 12 coming in the second half, to pace Tucker County.

MaKenna Evans added 14, Addi Moats 12 and Izzy Kitzmiller 11.

Sarah Defibaugh led Tygarts Valley with 15 points, followed by Alyssa Swecker with 11.

The Lady Bulldogs (8-4) visit Union at 6:30 p.m. today, while the Lady Mountain Lions (14-2) travel to Lincoln on Thursday night.
