No. 6 Tucker girls knock off top-ranked Lady Titans, 46-37
HAMBLETON — No. 6 Tucker County held top-ranked and defending state champion Gilmer County to just 14 points in the second half to rally for a 46-37 win Monday night in a Class A showdown.
The Lady Mountain Lions trailed 23-17 at halftime before outscoring the Lady Titans, 12-6, in the third to draw even.
Peyton Hicks knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as Tucker County held a 17-8 scoring edge.
Hicks finished with a game-high 14 points, connecting on four treys.
Mayah Gross added 11 for the Lady Mountain Lions on the night.
Ava Dobbins led Gilmer County (16-2) with 12 points.
The Lady Mountain Lions improved to 15-3 and were slated to visit Hampshire on Tuesday night.

PETERSBURG — Miley Tingler scored 15 points to lead Petersburg to a 69-30 win over regional foe South Harrison on Monday night.
Shayne Tawney and Ella Markwell added 10 each for the Lady Vikings, who are now 12-6 and visit Tucker County on Thursday night.
Rylea Rudder had nine for the Lady Hawks in the setback..
