Wamsley scores 38 as Bulldogs get past Cee Bees

By Joey Kittle 2 min read

MILL CREEK -- Playing his first game at home since going over 1,000 points for his career earlier this week, Jacob Wamsley added to that total in a big way Friday night at Weber-Wamsley Court.

The senior fired in 38 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 72-61 victory over Clay-Battelle.

Tygarts Valley trailed 39-26 at the intermission but limited the Cee Bees to just 22 points over the final two frames.

"Our defense in the second half was the difference in the game," Bulldogs coach Tom Wamsley said. "That plus no one could guard Wamsley.

"The team did a great job in closing out the game. Something we talked about all week."

Parker Bell chipped in 20 points and Adam Woods added 11, hitting three 3-pointers.

Clay-Battelle (13-5) was led by Trey Huggins with 19 points, followed by Maddix Kisner with 13.

Tygarts Valley is now 7-11 and will host Paw Paw today at approximately 3:30 p.m.
