B-U’s Westfall named Player of the Year; Elkins’ Shreve tabbed first team

BRIDGEPORT — Buckhannon-Upshur’s Jerin Westfall has been named the Big 10 Conference’s Player of the Year.

Westfall, a senior, helped lead the Bucs to a 16-8 record this year.

Elkins High senior Landon Shreve was named to the first team, along with Bridgeport’s Anderson McDougal, Gavin Williams and Aryon Dodd, East Fairmont’s Cayden Cooper and Hudson Brand, Fairmont Senior’s Darrell Claybrook, Lewis County’s Jesse Kemper, North Marion’s Connor Balwanz and Eli Ramsey and Robert C. Byrd’s Logan Boyce.

B-U’s Xavier Robinette and Philip Barbour Malchi Poling earned second-team honors.

They were joined on the second team by Fairmont Senior’s Landin Morris, Grafton’s Tucker Stemple and Jacob Moat, Lincoln’s Cole Vincent and Luke Joyce, North Marion’s Maddox Batson, Preston’s Easton Hayes and Aidan Schmidt and RCB’s Camryn Newsuan.

North Marion’s Steven Harbert was named the league’s Coach of the Year.
