EHS grad sees success on the field and in the classroom

ELKINS -- Former Elkins High School standout Anna Belan was recently named to the 2025 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) second team for women's soccer.

The Bridgewater College senior outside defender earned her first all-conference honor and was a key piece to the Eagles' success this season.

Belan, a 2022 graduate at EHS, helped lead Bridgewater to a 15-6 record, their second NCAA tournament appearance in program history, and the third most wins in a season in program history.

Belan appeared in all 21 contests this season and made 19 starts.

She scored three goals from her outside defender position, including the game-winning goal against Marietta College in the second game of the season.

Belan finished her career with 51 appearances and 36 starts.

For the second consecutive year, Belan was also named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team. The award requires excellence both in the classroom and on the field. Belan was one of six Eagles to make the team this year.

Belan graduated in December with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communications and a concentration in Marketing.

She starts graduate school at West Virginia University this summer, where she will be working on her master's degree in Industrial Relations and Human Resources.

During her career at EHS, Belan was a three-sport standout, earning all-state first-team honors as a junior and senior in soccer, honorable-mention all-state laurels in basketball as a junior and senior and three-time all-stater and champion in track & field.
