Lincoln gets win over EHS

SHINNSTON --A.J. Bart pitched four innings of scoreless ball to lead Lincoln to a 3-0 win over Elkins Tuesday in Big 10 Conference play.

It was the season opener for the Tigers, who were led at the plate by Trent Stone with two hits.

The Cougars plated all three of their runs in the fourth inning.

Dyer Barger started and went 3 1/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits and fanning six.

Brayden Biller, Isaac Shepler and Will Kilgore finished in relief.

Elkins visits Notre Dame this evening.

Philip Barbour 12

East Fairmont 1

PHILIPPI -- Kale Wolfe pitched a five-inning no-hitter as Philip Barbour claimed a 12-1 win over East Fairmont Tuesday in Big 10 play.

Wolfe fanned 10 and walked one.

He got all the run support he would need in the first inning as the Colts plated 10 runs.

Keagan Wolfe, Cam Bennett and Landyn Carpenter had two-run doubles during the uprising, while Kent Rowan added a two-run single and Slaton Harris an RBI double.

Kale Wolfe also had three hits on the day.

Philip Barbour (2-0) is slated to visit Buckhannon-Upshur this evening.

Tygarts Valley 21

Highland County 1

MONTEREY. Va. -- Joey Rader had five RBIs to power Tygarts Valley to a 21-1 win over Highland County (Va.) on Monday.

Luke Wamsley earned the win in going three hitless innings.

Zayden Defibaugh finished in relief.

Rader, Preston Smith, Jacob Wamsley, Caleb Teter and Adam Woods had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs, who erupted for 10 runs in the fourth inning to take control.
