No. 7 Bees hand Tigers a 61-42 loss

ELKINS -- Elkins concluded regular-season play with a 61-42 setback to Class AAA, No. 7 East Fairmont Monday night in Big 10 Conference action at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.

The Tigers (4-17) are the fourth seed in the Class AAA, Region II tourney and will host No. 5 Lewis County at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Bees drilled 10 treys on the night, led by Hudson Brand, who hit four from beyond the arc in finishing with 18 points.

Cayden Cooper chipped in 17 and River McClain 10.

Landon Shreve led Elkins with a game-high 24 points.

The Tigers trailed 33-18 at halftime and 47-32 after three quarters.

East Fairmont improved to 18-4 and is the second seed in the Region I tourney. The Bees entertain the winner of Thursday's contest between No. 6 Brooke at No. 3 Fairmont Senior on Tuesday in one of the co-regional finals.
