HUNTINGTON — Philip Barbour’s Malachi Cross finished as the state runner-up in the 285-pound weight class Saturday nigh in Division II state tourney action at Marshall Health Network Arena.

Cross capped off his career on the match with a 40-5 record this season, capturing the regional title.

He lost by pin fall to Ripley’s Carter Neal in Saturday’s title bout.

University won the Division I team title with 246 points, holding off Parkersburg with 235 points.

Ripley captured the Division II crown with 191.5 points. Williamstown was second with 131.5 points.

Cameron won the Division III title with 130 points.

Washington was the Girls Division champion with 124 points.
