Tigers bow to Hoover
ELKINS — Elkins dropped a 56-50 verdict to Herbert Hoover Saturday at Richard P. Simmons Memorial Gymnasium.
The Tigers (4-16) close out the regular season this evening against East Fairmont. They will begin Class AAA, Region II action at 7 p.m. Thursday at home against Lewis County.
The winner of that contest travels to top-seed Bridgeport on March 10.
Landon Shreve, one of the seniors honored on the night, and Isaiah Nutter had 20 points each for Elkins, which trailed 23-19 at halftime and 35-33 after three quarters of action.
The Huskies held a 21-17 scoring edge in the final canto.
Herbert Hoover ended the regular season with an 11-10 mark and begins Class AAA, Region III regional play Thursday at Princeton.
