Tigers visit Bridgeport tonight in regional final

BRIDGEPORT --The last time Elkins faced Bridgeport in postseason play was in last year's Class AAA state tournament.
The Indians defeated the Tigers in the quarterfinals en route to capturing the state title.
The Big 10 Conference rivals meet again on tonight in postseason play, with the winner advancing to Charleston.
Game time for the Region II co-final is set for 7 p.m. at Bridgeport.
While the fourth-seeded Tigers (5-17) were getting past Lewis County Thursday at home in opening-round action, the top-seeded Indians (18-4) had a bye.
Junior guard Anderson McDougal and the Indian defense were the difference when the teams met back on Feb. 10 in Elkins, tossing in 27 points to lead Bridgeport to a 49-39 victory.
Elkins trailed 36-30 after three quarters.
Landon Shreve had 36 points in the Tigers' victory over Lewis County.
"He had a great night," Elkins coach Amrit Rayfield said after the game. "The senior put us on his back and didn't want to lose at home and have his season end."
Bryson Gainer, filling in for injured starter Dreyton Boggs, added 10 points against the Minutemen.
Boggs is questionable for tonight's game, according to Rayfield, with an ankle injury.
In the other Region II co-final this evening, second-seed Robert C. Byrd hosts No. 3 Keyser.
The boy state tournament begins next Tuesday at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center.
