Area players garner postseason honors

MILL CREEK -- The Mason Dixon all-conference boys team and the Potomac Valley Conference Division II girls squad have been released.

Tygarts Valley placed two players on the Mason Dixon first team -- Jacob Wamsley, who went over 1,000 career points this season, and Parker Bell.

They were joined on the first unit by Clay-Battelle's Braden Ponceroff, Colt Sandy and Cooper Payton, Trinity's Colin Lemley and Austin Porta, Cameron's Colin Magers, Notre Dame's Brayden Helmick, Valley-Wetzel's Wyatt Rogers and Madonna's Reno Fuscardo.

The Bulldogs' Alex Scott was named to the second team.

The rest of the second unit is comprised of Jaxon Huggins (Clay-Battelle), Maddox Kisner (Clay-Battelle), Maddox Mousaidis (Trinity), Marcus Bland (Trinity), Ty Hutson (Trinity), Carter Paczewski (Cameron), Hunter Dobbs (Cameron), Jo Jo Minnocci (Notre Dame), Koleton Kinkade (Valley-Wetzel) and Jake Druga (Madonna).

Tygarts Valley's Aiden Phares and Adam Woods were named to the honorable-mention list, along with Kooper Statler (Clay-Battelle), Corey Coen (Clay- Battelle), Christian Humberson (Trinity), Collin Friend (Trinity), Danny Yoss (Cameron), Camden McCaulley (Cameron), DD Minnocci (Notre Dame), Isaiah Garnek (Notre Dame), Gaige Wichterman (Valley-Wetzel), Trevor Martin (Valley-Wetzel), Vinny Chiodi (Madonna) and Luke Wingett (Madonna).

Clay-Battelle was the league champions, with the Cee Bees' Trey Huggins the Player of the Year and Josh Kisner the Coach of the Year.

Tygarts Valley's Sarah Defibaugh, meanwhile, was named to the all-PVC team.

She is joined by Tucker County's MaKenna Evans and Mayah Gross, Pendleton County's Susan Vincell, Petersburg's Miley Tingler and Pocahontas County's Allyson Taylor.

Tucker County's Alsiha Lycliter was named the Coach of the Year.
