Lady Bulldogs earn league honors
MILL CREEK — Tygarts Valley senior basketball players Sarah Defibaugh and Kailen Yokum have been named to the all-Mason-Dixon Conference first team.
They are joined on the first team by Macey Bertram (Cameron), Kendra Thomas (Cameron), Aubrey Thomas (Cameron), Ali Hellyer (Clay Battelle), Breanna DeBolt (Clay Battelle Laken Dawson (Valley-Wetzel), Adalynne Welsh (Madonna) and Piper Fryer (Notre Dame).
The Lady Bulldogs’ Emily Smith and Alyssa Swecker earned second-team laurels, along with Kenzie Scott (Cameron), Emma Francis (Cameron), Diara Baez (Clay-Battelle) Nevaeh St. Clair (Clay-Battelle) Johnnie Yeager (Clay-Battelle) Michaela Miller (Valley-Wetzel), Alexis Highley (Valley-Wetzel), Taylor Birkhimer (Madonna) and Adalyn Murray (Notre Dame).
Nevaeh Cooper and Addie Riddle from Tygarts Valley made the honorable-mention list.
The rest of the HM selections include Addison Stern (Cameron), Edie Hartley (Cameron), Mia Hellyer (Clay- Battelle), Lily Owens (Clay-Battelle Aubree Mason (Valley-Wetzel), Kendall Loy (Valley-Wetzel), Rylee Birkhimer (Madonna), Geena Birkhimer (Madonna), Izzy Fritto (Notre Dame)and Rachel Howard (Notre Dame).
Cameron (15-7) were the league champions, led by the conference’s Player of the Year Macey Bertram and Coach of the Year Hilly Pettit.
