Lady Tigers split pair of contests
Drop 7-6 home tilt to North Marion; Cruise past Hampshire

ELKINS -- North Marion plated a run in the top of the seventh inning to edge Elkins, 7-6, Tuesday in Big 10 Conference action at Betty Heckel Field.
Kinlee Hess opened the inning by drawing a walk and later scored on a passed ball for the eventual game-winning run.
The Lady Tigers had plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth to draw even at 6-6.
Freshman Meria Tarley had an RBI in the frame, while Addison Carr doubled home Tarley to make it 6-5.
Gabi Mahanes then scored Carr with a double to center to tie the contest at 6-all.
Carr and Braelynn Washington had a pair of hits on the night for Elkins. Hailey Riffle added a triple.
Bella Talkington, Reagan Ash and Rayden Satterfield had doubles for the Lady Huskies.
Ash finished with three RBIs.
Satterfield allowed two runs on three hits for North Marion in going the first four innings.
Aubrea Corbin earned the win in three innings of relief. She fanned three.
Maddie Lambert and Carr both saw time on the mound for the Lady Tigers.
Lambert went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three.
Carr went two frames, surrendering four runs on two hits with two strikeouts.
On Monday, Elkins picked up a 21-2 victory at Hampshire.
Mahanes had four RBIs in the win on a pair of two-run doubles.
Lambert gave up two unearned runs on two hits in going all three innings, fanning five with no walks.
The Lady Tigers (2-4) are slated to visit Northern (Md.) today for a non-conference game and return home at 3:30 p.m. Thursday to battle Philip Barbour for another Big 10 contest.
