ELKINS — Elkins pounded out 12 hits en route to a 10-3 victory over Doddridge County Wednesday night at Betty Heckel Field.

Gabby Mahanes went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and two doubles to lead the Lady Tigers at the plate.

Braelynn Washington added two RBIs and Hailey Riffle and Zeya Price two hits each.

Maddie Lambert went the distance to earn the win, allowing four hits and fanning two.

Brooke DeHaven had a solo homer for the Lady Bulldogs.

Elkins 7-11 visits Robert C. Byrd Friday for a Big 10 Conference doubleheader.

Morgantown 7, B-U 1

MORGANTOWN — Lucas Shinn tossed a four-hitter to lead Morgantown to a 7-1 win over Buckhannon-Upshur on Wednesday.

Shinn struck out six and didn’t issue a walk.

Weldon Zirkle was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out two in in two innings of work.

Mason Bowers led the Mohigans at the plate, going 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

Gavin Moody had an RBI single for the Bucs, who are now 9-6 and visit Lewis County on Friday.

Petersburg 12, Tygarts Valley 1

MILL CREEK — Tygarts Valley dropped the first game of a doubleheader against Petersburg, 12-1, on Wednesday night.

Owen Reel twirled a three-hitter in going all five innings, striking out eight and walking four.

Jacob Wamsley was saddled with the loss in 2 2/3 innings, fanning five and walking three.

Reel had three RBIs and Kaleb Kuhn and Lukas Wolford three hits each for the Vikings.

Austin Wilson had an RBI double in the fifth for the Bulldogs.
