Tigers split with Moorefield, earn victory over Philip Barbour

MOOREFIELD — Elkins split a pair of game against Moorefield on Saturday.

The Tigers recorded a 10-6 win and dropped a 4-3 verdict.

Blayne Thompson and Braden Cooper had two RBIs each in the win for the Tigers, while Brady Biller went 3 for 4.

Owen Stanley earned the win, allowing four runs on five hits in three innings of work.

Edison Smith had a pair of hits for the Yellow Jackets.

Moorefield got a walk-off victory as Trevor Baldwin delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Thompson and Dyer Barger had two hits apiece for Elkins.

Baldwin finished with a pair of RBIs on two hits for Moorefield.

On Thursday night, the Tigers won a rain-delayed 9-6 win over visiting Philip Barbour.

Cooper and Trent Stone had two RBIs each in the win. Barger went 2 for 4.

Anthony Mosesso went 3 for 4 and had two RBIs for the Colts.

Mossesso and Kale Wolfe had doubles.

Barger earned the win in relief, while Kent Rowan was tagged with the loss.

Both teams are in action today as the Tigers (4-3) visit Preston and the Colts (4-3) host Robert C. Byrd in Big 10 Conference play.
