WVU football earns commitment from another LB

MORGANTOWN — After a little over 24 hours, West Virginia football earned its second commitment from another linebacker in two days. 2027 linebacker Wesley Flamer announced his commitment to the Mountaineers Saturday night. Linebacker Rick Brown committed Friday afternoon.

Flamer had multiple offers from East Carolina, Temple, Buffalo and James Madison, but picked WVU and has an official visit from June 5-7th. According to his social media, in his junior season, Flamer had a big season. He had 174 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, five blocked kicks and a pick-6. He also played in three playoff games.

The Chantilly, Virginia, native is another athletic linebacker, showing Zac Alley and the Mountaineers strategy for next year’s class. Flamer is another big linebacker at 6-foot-2, which keeps all four linebackers for the class over 6-foot.

Flamer is not yet rated on recruiting sites, and marks WVU’s seventh recruit of the class. Four of the last five recruits have been linebackers.

Starting at $3.92/week.
