Tucker boys place sixth in Class A state meet
CHARLESTON — The Tucker County boys placed sixth in the Class A portion of the state meet completed Saturday at Laidley Field.
The Mountain Lions tallied 46 points. Wahama took the boys title with 123.50 points.
The 4×400-meter relay unit of Nate Ricottilli, Keeyln Eichelberger, Lucas Barb and Reid Kisamore placed second on Saturday in a time of 3:33.33.
The same group placed eighth in the 4×200 relay (1:37.50).
Ricottilli was also third in the 400 (51.86) and Kisamore fifth in the 100 (11.64).
Barb won the state title in the high jump on Friday’s first day of the meet with an effort of 6-0.
Tygarts Valley’s 4×100 relay (Connor Rose, Koalton Heckler, Alex Scott and Elijah Stanley) placed eighth in a time of 47.51.
In Class A girls, Tucker County placed 13th with 21 points.
Wheeling Central won the crown with 113.50 points.
Lela Wright was third in the 100 for the Lady Mountain Lions in a time of 12.91 and fifth in the 200 (26.78).
She joined Mayah Gross, Addi Moats and Rachel Hile in placing seventh in the 4×100 relay (54.93) and Moats, Livey Mayne, Kenah Griffth and Hile placed seventh in the shuttle hurdle relays (1:19.64).
Harman’s Jessie Heavner was fifth in the 400 (1:02.77) and eighth in the 200 (28.54).
For Tygarts Valley, Emily Smith was eighth in the long jump (15-01.50.
In Class AA, the Philip Barbour boys placed 11th with 21 points.
Isaiah Starks was fifth in the 400 (50.24) and joined Patrick Webster, Malachi Poling and Hayden Dalton in finishing sixth in the 4×400 relay (3:35.20).
Poling was the state runner-up in the high jump (6-0) and Dylan Phillips sixth in the discus (134-04).
The Lady Colts finished 18th with seven points..
Kayla Baker was fifth in the 3,200 (12:39.53) on Friday and Madalynn Wolfe eighth in the long jump (14-09) on Saturday.
The Doddridge County boys (142) and Williamstown girls (115) captured the team titles.
